Allan Loren
A 45-year veteran of building successful organizations, Allan brings extensive strategic, technology and operational experience to Kubera. Between 2000 and 2005, he served as Chairman and CEO of D&B (formerly known as Dun & Bradstreet), refocusing the business and implementing the innovative "Blueprint for Growth" strategy, which has been profiled in publications such as McKinsey Quarterly as an example of innovative corporate leadership. Prior to D&B, Allan served as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for American Express for six years. He was President and CEO of Galileo International from 1991 to 1994. During his tenure, he oversaw the successful merger of Galileo Ltd. and Covia Partnership to create Galileo International, a leading travel information and transaction processing company. From 1988 to 1990, he served as President of Apple Computer U.S.A. and as CIO of CIGNA from 1981 to 1987. Allan serves on the Board of the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. He holds a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from Queens College, City of New York in 1960.
Ernest Cu
Ernest brings over 20 years of technological, marketing and financial expertise in electronic publishing and database management to Kubera. Ernest is the President and CEO of SPi, Inc, one of the world's largest full service Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies. In 2006, Ernest spearheaded SPi´s sale to ePLDT.
Prior to joining SPI, Ernest held several key executive positions for Crestec Los Angeles Inc., a US based document engineering firm. As Vice President and CFO, he was instrumental in devising the company´s turnaround strategy. Ernest was previously an executive with the Bank of America.
Ernest holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management Engineering from De La Salle University in Manila. He received an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Ernest was the recipient of the 2003 Ernst & Young `Entrepreneur of the Year´ award for the `Information and Communications Technology´ category for the Philippines.
Philip Riese
Phillip brings more than 30 years of strategic planning, corporate leadership and financial services industry expertise to Kubera. He spent 18 years at American Express in a variety of leadership positions. He retired in 1998 as President of the Consumer Card Services Group after overseeing the turnaround of the company's flagship businesses. Prior to his tenure at American Express, Phillip was a Division Executive at Chase and a Partner in a South Africa-based management consulting company. From 1998 to 2000, he served as CEO and Director of financial services technology firm OptiMark and remained a Director through 2002. From 2001 to 2003, he was CEO and a Director at AirClic, a wireless services company.
Phillip holds a Bachelors in Commerce degree from Leeds University (United Kingdom) in 1970 with a joint focus on Economics and Textile Engineering. He received an MBA from the University of Cape Town in 1972 and a Masters Degree in Management from the M.I.T. Sloan School of Management in 1977, where he was a Sloan Fellow.
Venkat Ramaswamy
Venkat is Executive Director, Head of Investment Banking and Co-Founder of Edelweiss Capital, one of the leading financial services company in India whose businesses include investment banking, securities broking and asset management. As Head of Investment Banking, Venkat focuses on venture capital and private equity advisory and fund raising for emerging technology companies. Venkat has previously worked with the Spartek Emerging Opportunities Fund and ICICI.
Venkat holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and is an Electronics Engineer.
